hire Looking for a venue
to hold a function? The Ashfield Town Hall and a number of community halls are
available for hire. Call 9716 1800. Council
and Committee meetings Meetings
are open to the public, except for discussion of legal, staff or other confidential
matters.

At our Libraries we have videos, audio books, toys, magazines, music CDs and cassettes
for loan - FREE!
Swimming pool laws
All private swimming pools
must be surrounded by an approved child restraint barrier
and display an approved resuscitation poster and notice in
a prominent position - "Young children should be supervised
when using the swimming pool".
Garbage
and recycling Council operates a weekly garbage
and fortnightly recycling service.
Council also operates an optional fortnightly garden
waste service at a charge.
Clean up days
Council has two free general clean
ups a year.
Parks for hire Ashfield
Municipality has 22 parks and 9 reserves. A number of these are available for
hire. Community
services Community services provide
a podiatry clinic; transport for community outings; community information, English
and exercise classes; youth activities; social, ethno-specific and educational
groups; and aged and disability services to name just a few. Citizenship
services If you are interested in becoming an Australian
Citizen you must first apply with the Department of Immigration and Multicultural
affairs. Application kits are available at One Stop. Interested
in our Heritage?
Council has produced a video "Protecting Our Heritage
- Helping You Through the Process", along with a brochure
and checklist. This is available to borrow from Council's
Branch Libraries
and is also available in Italian and Chinese.
Planning
a change? Planning to build or repair your home? Changing the use of
a premise or putting up an advertising sign? Legislation may require you to lodge
a formal application with Council.
