Ashfield Local Environmental Plan (LEP) is an important document that shows how Council proposes to ensure land is appropriately used and available to meet the needs of the community through land use zoning and development standards such as building height, building density and heritage provisions. It was developed following extensive community consultation on our Urban Planning Strategy and will provide a clear direction for development in the Ashfield Local Government Area.
The Plan includes initiatives to promote sustainable development, enhance business opportunities, conserve our heritage and retain the unique character of our residential areas. The Plan was based on a comprehensive Urban Planning Strategy and closely reflects the aspirations of the wider Ashfield Community as expressed in Council’s Community Plan.
