Ashfield Youth Centre - Opening 2012
A new Youth Centre is planned for central Ashfield. The Centre will be located on lower ground floor of Ashfield Town Hall, 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. This area is adjacent to Ashfield Mall and a two minute walk from Ashfield train station and buses along Liverpool Road.
Local young people aged between 12 and 24 years old will be the target audience for the space.
The Centre will house Council's regular youth drop in service, Youth Zone, Ashfield Youth Theatre rehearsal space and meetings for Council's Youth Committee. Local youth-based organisations are services will be invited to run their event or program in the Centre.
The space will have three small meeting rooms which can open into one large room fitted with AV equipment, a lounge area, and outdoor area, two offices as well as a kitchen and toilets. The venue will be wheelchair accessible including ramp entry and accessible toilets.
Free access to computers and wi-fi will be available to young people.
