Nominations have now closed for Ashfield Council’s 2016 Australia Day Awards for the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Young Artist / Sportsperson of the Year.
The Award recipients will be announced at a special ceremony on Australia Day, 26 January 2016 which will also include a Citizenship Ceremony.
The Australia Day Awards are an important way to formally acknowledge and thank local residents for their contributions and achievements in our local community.
If you know someone who dedicates their time, skills and energy to help others in the community you can nominate them for an Australia Day Award.
By nominating someone for an Australia Day Award, Ashfield Council can recognise and thank them for their efforts and achievements.
The NSW Citizen of the Year Awards recognise outstanding achievement and service to the community during the past year, or over a number of years.
There are also Awards for Young Citizen of the Year and Young Artist and Sportsperson of the Year.
Nominees must be Australian citizens, aged 16 and over and residing in, or contributing to, the Ashfield municipality at the time of nomination.
