Local Government elections take place every four years with the next election to be held on Saturday, 8 September 2012. Residents are reminded to check they are registered to vote. Information about registering or changing an address are available from the Australian Electoral Commission.

Candidate nominations open: 30 July
Close of nominations: 8 August
Pre-poll voting opens: 27 August
Postal vote applications close: 3 September
Pre-poll voting closes: 7 September
Election Day: Saturday 8 September
