Venue Hire

Are you looking for a venue to hold a birthday party, seminar or exercise classes? Council has a range of halls and meeting rooms that range from 20 - 130 people in capacity. All venues are charged at a competitive rate with discounts available to eligible non-profit organisations. Some groups may be entitled to free use depending on circumstances. A list of all venues is below.

To hire the Ashfield Town Hall or Civic Centre Activity Rooms, apply here.

All other venues, apply here. This includes Bastable Street Hall, Cadigal Room, Mervyn Fletcher Hall, Michael Maher and Graham Yarroll Rooms.

Fees and charges

All venues are charged per hour, plus a refundable damage deposit. Substantial discounts apply for non-profit organisations and groups.

Summer Hill Community Centre

Summer Hill Community Centre


The Summer Hill Community Centre is located at 131 Smith Street, Summer Hill. The Centre is home to a wide range of social, exercise and support groups. Activities include yoga classes, playgroups, art and craft classes, parent support groups and more. Private counseling services also run from the Centre. Room hire is available for regular and casual bookings.

The Centre is run independently from Ashfield Council, by the Summer Hill Community Centre Management Committee. Council supports the Centre by providing an annual donation and use of the Council-owned facility.
