Bicycle Paths

Cycling is a great recreational activity that not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but those using cycling as an alternative to car use are also reducing air pollution and traffic congestion.

Ashfield Council is working with the community to improve cycling facilities within the Municipality.

Hawthorne Canal Active Act Transport (HCAT)

The Hawthorne Canal Active Transport project aims to: “research, implement and evaluate innovative measures aimed at promoting and facilitating increased cycling trips in the Hawthorne Canal corridor.”

The Inner West Bike Map is an initiative of the HCAT project. The Bike Map covers most of the routes in the Inner West but is centred on the Cooks River to Iron Cove GreenWay Corridor. Download the bike map now.

Bicycle Courses
The Central Sydney Area Health Service run bicycle workshops, including how to ride courses for beginners and bicycle maintenance.
