Feast of Flavours 2016

Embark on a flavours journey through the suburbs of Ashfield and Summer Hill at this year's Feast of Flavours events.

There will be specialty dishes and tasting plates aplenty, a great range of local products on offer, wonderful entertainment and
free, fun activities for the kids.


Ashfield's Tastes of Asia

  •  Friday, 7 October 2016
  •  6:00pm – 9:00pm
  •  Ashfield Civic Centre forecourt and Liverpool Road, Ashfield

 

This evening street festival will showcase the exotic flavours and cultural richness of Ashfield’s Asian food outlets. Ashfield is renowned for its wonderful Shanghai style Chinese cuisine, but there will also be cooking delights from India, Nepal and Thailand for your savouring pleasure.

Be entertained by over 12 acts including traditional Chinese dancers and music throughout the evening in the Ashfield Civic Centre forecourt. Free face painting for the kids.

  • 6.35pm -  Terry Mocsari sings a range of Australian covers
  • 7.10pm -  Official Welcome by former Ashfield Council Mayor and current Advisory Committee Member, Lucille

  • 7.15pm -  Australian Federation of Chinese Organisations presents over 10 acts of modern Chinese music and
                   dance,
    traditional Chinese opera and much more
  • 9:00pm -  Event closes

Summer Hill’s Neighbourhood Feast

  •  Sunday, 9 October 2016
  •  10:00am – 4:00pm
  •  Lackey Street, Summer Hill

Come along for a street festival that celebrates Summer Hill’s family-friendly food outlets and unique village atmosphere. Summer Hill is renowned for its cultural variety, heritage architecture, wonderful coffee shops and providores, popular contemporary restaurants and small bars.

Entertainment for young and old will be provided including cooking demonstrations, local craft beer talks, a pizza eating competition, a pop up beer garden, and a Kids’ Zone that is sure to impress with a range of free activities including; a jumping castle, face painting, free pinball machines and a petting zoo.
