In 2011, licensed Clubs in the Ashfield municipality allocated funds of $220,000 to local non-profit, community groups for projects and services that support local disadvantaged communities. This scheme is a shared State Government - Club Industry program, funded by a gaming machine tax rebate provided by the State Government to those registered clubs with gaming machine profits in excess of $1 million per annum. Licensed Clubs in our community are supporting a range of community projects through this program and Ashfield Council is assisting them through the grants Committee to make better decisions about their allocations.
1) Which Clubs participate in the Ashfield scheme?
There are three Clubs that participate in the Ashfield scheme. These are Wests Ashfield Leagues, Club Ashfield (formally known as Ashfield Catholic Club) and Ashfield RSL. You can apply to one or all of the Clubs. Please indicate on your application form which Club/s you wish to apply to.
2) Where do I submit my application to?
As of 2012, applications should be completed online so you do not need to post a form into participating Club.
3) What if I don't have access to the Internet?
We are encouraging everyone to apply online this year, but understand that not everyone has access to the internet. Internet access is available at Ashfield and Haberfield Libraries. Phone 9716 1810 for Ashfield or 9716 1000 for Haberfield Library to make a booking. If you are still unable to complete the form online, please contact Council who can assist you Tel: 02 9716 1843.
The 2011/12 round of this grant funding has now closed. The next round will start in September 2012. For more information, contact Council's Community Services on 9716 1841.
