Since the introduction of the Infrastructure Levy, Special Rate Variation (SRV), in 2009/10, Council, as part of its five year program has completed a number of projects that include:
Stage 1 was completed in 2009/10, creating a pedestrian friendly and accessible streetscape. The project to enhance the Croydon CBD north precinct was undertaken to increase the profile of the business and commercial area, improve pedestrian safety and to enhance the appearance and accessibility of the area.
Completion of Stage 2, streetscape enhancements at the corner of Edwin St North and Elizabeth St at a cost of $85,000 will provide further improvement and reinforces the pedestrian priority to traffic in this area.

Croydon North after the stage 1 improvements
The local traffic management measures in Dobroyd Parade, Cove Street, Northcote Street and Wolseley Street, includes the construction of additional parking bays and speed calming devices. These works were commenced in 2010 and will be completed in 2011. The total cost of these improvements will be $135,000.

Progressive repairs and relaying of paving and extending the kerb ramps in the Ashfield CBD along Liverpool Road. It is planned to continue this program over the next three years with a budget of $50,000 per year. These works will improve the pedestrian surface.
As part of the Georges River Road master plan upgrade, paving to the footpath will be undertaken and additional angle parking will be created at Forbes Street. These works will create a pedestrian friendly and accessible streetscape. The SRV funds of $75,000 are being allocated towards this project with a total cost of $135,000.
With the additional funds raised from the special rates variation, extra amounts of replacing very poor condition footpaths, roads and kerbs will be undertaken, including some street furniture. These projects include:
Refurbishment of the toilet amenities, with new male and female toilets. A new disabled access toilet was also installed, with footpath to facilitate access. This project was completed at a cost of $125,000.
Existing toilet block was converted from male and female toilets, to home and away change rooms, with new benches and showers. An extension was built to the front to allow for two disabled access toilets as well as a new referees change room. Skylights and ventilation were also installed. This project was completed at a cost of $150,000.

Over and above Council's road resurfacing program, additional road resurfacing and major road patching was undertaken with the additional funds raised from the SRV. SRV funding of $40,000 was allocated for road resurfacing, and $50,000 for major patching.
Aerial bundling of overhead power lines through mature trees. In 2010/11 the SRV funding of $100,000 was allocated to these works.

At the intersection of Queen St and Norton St a new roundabout will be reconstructed to improve the poorly configured intersection. The cost of these works is estimated at $100,000.
Stage 3 streetscape enhancements at Hennessy Street to link in with the completed works in Edwin Street North. Cost $50,000.
