Justice of the Peace
Beginning 17/08/09, a Justice of the Peace (JP) service will be available in the library on Wednesday, Friday & Saturday mornings (10am to 12noon) at Ashfield library. It will no longer be available on Thursday mornings, due to it not being very busy. A Justice of the Peace (JP) is also available at Haberfield Library 10am-11am on a fortnightly basis.
This service was introduced by Ashfield Library in 2007 and is staffed by volunteers, with support from the NSW Justices Association.
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer JP?
Ashfield Library is encouraging members of the community to apply to become a JP and then to register to volunteer at either Ashfield or Haberfield Library.
Application forms and more information on becoming a JP are available at Ashfield and Haberfield Libraries and Council's Customer Service Centre. Library staff can assist people in completing the form and will provide ongoing training for JPs who volunteer at the Library.
