Ashfield Library is proud to again be partnering with Sydney Writers’ Festival for the 14th consecutive year. We are excited to be welcoming to Ashfield Irish crime novelist, now Melbourne resident, Adrian McKinty, with his new Detective Sean Duffy thriller, Rain Dogs. Please join us in Ashfield Town Hall on Thursday May 19 6.00pm for 6.30pm start, books for sale and signing from Gleebooks, Finn will play some lively music and there will be wine and light refreshments. The book chute at Ashfield is open 24/7 and is located on the ground floor near the CBA ATM, close to the entrance to Ashfield Mall.

Ashfield Library aims to assist in increasing the literacy of its community by including in its collection materials that promote and literacy and learning including IELTS materials. Via the Library catalogue, you can write reviews directly into our library catalogue! Just find the item you want to write about in the catalogue, and then click on "Write a Review". Follow the quick easy steps to register, and get writing! The Library catalogue features our digital collections.

Beamafilm is a new film service being offered by Ashfield Library. Beamafilm supports independent film and film makers as a percentage of the net income to the filmakers.

Rocket Languages 

Rocket Lanuages is a new free language service from Ashfield Library. Rocket has language courses for many popular languages and is availble for all Library card holders.

Freegal Music 

Freegal Music is a free online music service from Ashfield Library. Freegal offers access to the entire Sony Music catalogue, plus thousands of independent music labels. In total the collection comprises thousands of artists, millions of songs, and over 100 genres of music, all without having to download any software. Patrons can download 3 songs per week in MP3 format, plus stream 3 hours of music per day on the go. The Freegal Music mobile app is free from the Apple App store and the Android version is available on the Google Playstore. Music can be downloaded into iTunes, and accessed on your computer and portable devices. All you need to access this service, is your Ashfield Library card number and PIN.


Ashfield Library now provides IndieFlix with our partner libraries. There are films in many genres including Zombie, Classic and Cult.
