All parents, grandparents and carers of children aged 0 - 6 years. Come to the park with your children and be prepared to have fun!
'The Red Bug' playgroup is an initiative sponsored by Ashfield Council. Held in the grounds of the Ashfield Park each Monday during school terms, from 10am to 12pm, 'The Red Bug' offers an informal point of contact for many families to a range of Council services such as Library story-time and environmental information.
At each session, The Infants Home Child & Family Services provides age appropriate books, toys, art and craft equipment, puzzles, games and activities that are appropriate to all 'pre-school' ages and stages of development. A variety of information on health, wellbeing and children's services in the area is also made available to parents. The Children's Services librarian visits the group once a month and runs a story-time as well as replenishes the books so that there is always new material for the children.
As it is an outdoors activity, it is not held when it is raining or during extreme heat. All children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. To check if the playgroup will be held, call the Infants Home on 9799 4844 or Ashfield Council on 9716 1844.
