Council has an ongoing program of road rehabilitation including heavy patching and resurfacing. Works are prioritised by their condition, and the amount of works is limited by the available budget. Council does not have sufficient funds to repair all pavements as requested, and some areas may be left unfixed for some time other than addressing safety issues (eg filling potholes).

Main roads are managed and maintained by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), and requests for these roads should be referred to the RMS on 131 700.

Public utilities have statutory rights to use the road for their infrastructure, and to do the work themselves. They are responsible for traffic management during works, and making the locations safe and trafficable until permanent repairs are done.
