Social Plan 2010

Ashfield Council's 2010 Social Plan endeavours to position Council to respond in a positive way to the needs and aspirations of our community. In particular it outlines priority actions for the following key target groups:

  • Children aged 0-11 years
  • Women
  • Older people aged 55 years and over
  • People with Disabilities
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse communities

The Social Plan 2010 has a section on "Community Capacity Building" which incorporates other essential endeavours for Council & the community.

Ashfield Bridging Social Plan 2007 - 2008

Ashfield Council has undertaken extensive community consultation and an analysis of community needs and issues to produce a Bridging Social Plan 2007-2008. It includes a range of strategies that aim to address identified social and community needs of the Ashfield community for a period of 12 months.

These strategies address the needs of a number of target groups. Some of these target groups are mandatory under state government legislation. They include Children aged 0-11 years, Young People aged 12-24 years, Women, Older People aged 55 years and over, People with Disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander People and People from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds. Ashfield Council has broadened its approach and has extended the report to include Men as a target group as well as issue areas that include Community Facilities, Arts and Culture, Housing and General Community.
