Sustainability Street

Are you interested in improving your local environment, meeting new friends and acting more sustainably? Then Council’s Sustainability Street Program may be for you.

What is Sustainability Street?
Sustainability Street ® at its simplest is a solid, fun, basic training program, designed to nurture sustainable living both at home and around the neighbourhood.

The Sustainability Street ® Approach was devised by environmental educators Vox Bandicoot Pty Ltd, and Ashfield Council is very exited to be offering this program to our residents.

What is involved?
Residents coming together with Ashfield Council, to learn, discuss and act on sustainable living ideas, action plans and projects.

What are the goals of the program?

  • To work with local residents to improve environmental sustainability within the area, and to show how individuals can reduce their impact on the environment.
  • To reduce household energy, water use and waste production (otherwise known as the 3 areas of daily focused effort).
  • To develop long lasting friendships and new local connections.
