What is motor vehicle crime?

Motor vehicle crime includes;

What basic steps can you take to reduce theft from motor vehicles  ?

  • Insure your vehicle.
  • Always drive with your vehicle locked.
  • Install a high quality electronic alarm.
  • Install and engine immobilizer.
  • Record your vehicle VIN number
  • Never leave your keys in the ignition.
  • Park wisely - park in busy well-lit areas.
  • Lock up every time - always close your windows and sun roof and lock your doors.
  • Use a steering lock as a deterrent.
  • Don't make your vehicle a target by leaving valuables in your car or leaving garage remote control devices in your car
  • Always chain up your motorbike
