Join us for a special Local Studies talk on famous Sydney women and their connection to Ashfield on Monday 23 November 2015
To help you prepare for the HSC, Ashfield, Burwood, City of Canada Bay and Leichhardt libraries have put together a range of free workshops for students in the lead up to exams.
Comic Con-versation 2015 is a week-long comics and graphic novel festival being held from 28 September to 3 October, across six Sydney Libraries.
Events are scheduled at Ashfield, Canterbury, Canada Bay, Liverpool, Marrickville and Sutherland libraries, and include workshops, exhibitions, talks and artists' alleys.
The opening event will be an exhibition launch of Bruce Mutard's work, An Anzac Myth, at Liverpool Library on 28 September and Ashfield Library is proud to host the festival Closing Event on 3 October at the Ashfield Town Hall. Running from 3-8pm, it will be an evening of workshops, live sketching, portfolio reviews, gaming, music and an artist's alley. Meet and mingle with our talented local comics community!

Join us for an evening of music, food and wine as we launch our inaugural cook book. The cookbook will be available to purchase on the night for $5 with proceeds going to Ozharvest.
With over 60 recipes from over 40 contributors within the community. The book will be launched by special guest the Mayor of Ashfield, Councillor Lucille McKenna OAM.
Live music from local band Finn and light refreshments served.

Ashfield Library now has a dedicated Local Studies room on level 2 Ashfield Civic Centre.
The hours of opening for local studies and family history research are:
Mondays and Tuesdays 10am-1pm and Thursdays 2pm-5pm.
The room is also open for private study on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1.30pm-4.45pm, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.00am-4.45pm and Thursdays from 9.00am-1.00pm.
The room is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
