Circle of Security 

This 4 week course helps parents identify their children's needs and shows them the importance of a secure attachment. It is designed for parents of infants and toddlers, however applies to children of all ages. It also looks at the parents' own upbringing and how it affects the way we parent.

When: 4 Mondays 7, 14, 21 & 28 November 2016, 10:00am-12noon
Where: Inner West Council Ashfield Service Centre, 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield
Cost: FREE and morning tea provided. Sorry, no childminding available. 

This course is run in partnership with Anglicare and Metro Assist.

Perinatal Depression & Anxiety Awareness Week 2016

Lunch & Learn - A FREE event for expectant parents and parents of babies under 1 year old

Are you a new or expectant parent? Come along and learn how to look after your mental health during the perinatal period. Meet other new and expectant parents, have fun with your baby, and enjoy free lunch and afternoon tea!

12:30-1:30pm   Workshop 1: Baby Sign Language

In this workshop a speech pathologist will teach you 20 signs that you can start using straight away with your baby to support and encourage his/her communication development.

1:30-2:30pm    Workshop 2: Perinatal Depression and Anxiety

This workshop will cover topics such as what is PNDA, contributing factors to PNDA, self-care strategies and where to go for help. 

When: Wednesday 16 November 2016, 12:30-2:30pm

FREE Diabetes Education Seminar  

This informative seminar will provide you with information on connecting with diabetes services in your local area. Topics covered include understanding the NDSS, making healthy eating easy, physical activity, and the annual cycle of care. A light lunch will be provided.

Baby Yoga - FULL

Baby yoga has many benefits for your baby and you. Discover how baby yoga can:

- help your baby develop balance, co-ordination and motor skills

- aid your baby's digestion and respiration

- help you gain posture and tone

- help you learn yoga breathing and relaxation techniques

Please note that this course is intended for newborns to pre-crawlers. Older siblings are not allowed to attend for safety reasons. Please bring a blanket, rug or towel for the baby.

Children's Oral Health Workshop for Parents

In this session a dental therapist will talk about children's dental development and give information on baby tooth, teething, thumb sucking and dummies, tooth decay in young children and tooth brushing techniques.
